 BarkMail
 Frequently Asked Questions

can I access my barkmail from an email client program such as Outlook Express?
Yes. Most email client programs can be used to access and send mail via barkmail. There may be help with the email program but here are some screen shots for:
Outlook Express and Eudora

can I get Outlook Express to check barkmail as well as my previous email account?
This is normally possible although some applications only support one email account for each instance of the program. For this type you will need to have the program set up several times on your computer, each one configured to use a different email address. See the screen shots for Outlook Express to see how multiple addresses can be used and Eudora for single addresses (There is a slightly more sophisticated version of Eurdora that caters for mulitple email accounts)

when I access emails using Outlook Express messages seem to have gone into my inbox, but then they vanish! Where have they gone?
Email client programs such as Outlook Express often have filters that can be used to move spam to other folders as well as to redirect messages to other people or generate automatic responses (in Outlook Express see Tools->Rules Wizard). If the emails have been downloaded you should be able to read them in one of your local folders. Normally folders with unread messages in them are shown in bold typeface.

can I filter spam from my mail
Yes, but be careful not to throw out the baby with the bathwater! There are settings on your online email page (see the menu at the top Settings) There is control for filtering, autoresponding as well as spam filtering. There is a default setting for spam filtering using the facilities provided by the email host. These are probably best left as they are but there is a large amount of scope for sorting your email into different folders on line using your own content filters.

In addition you can set up filtering on most email client programs (such as Outlook Express).
